how do you know if your dvr system supports audio? I purchased last year the model number ''f6-81-4624N-BF''. I was a little bit confused because the menu options allow audio playback and on the box it states audio inputs/outputs type rca for 2 channels

Dear Customer, You can enable audio features on the cameras by opening your DVR's Main Menu > General tab > Network and enabling the audio checkbox at the right of the screen menu. Thank you for choosing Night Owl.

Is this what I would need to add sound to my night owl c-881-pir1080? If so, i'm assuming its 1 for each camera but on my 8 channel unit can i only use 4?

Good afternoon, your DVR unit can support up to 4 cameras with audio enabled capabilities, as you mention the microphone adapter is also compatible with your system, which you can only install 4 microphones. Best regards.

Yes Nick the CAM-HDA10W-DMA is an audio enable dome camera with audio for indoor/outdoor and it will work with your system (I have the same one).

Good morning. Depending on your DVR model, you can connect a Surveillance Microphone to the unit. You then have to enable audio recording on the corresponding video channel through the DVR menu. Thanks for choosing Night Owl.

Just received my mic and set it up. It's in the correct input channel and my setup isn't muted, as it plays back the audio when it's live. But when I play recorded video there is no audio. Am I missing something?
