I was able to assign one password for all systems but needed to complete this prior to plugging in my Powerline 1200. Purchase the doorbell as well. Still learning how to retrieve recordings. are these cameras compatible with the older NVR10 series ? I need a replacement camera, and am having trouble finding information on if it's compatible ....

I cannot get my DVR to connect to a monitor or a TV screen it keeps telling me that the format is not supported what do I do with that I can watch my cameras on a monitor or on the TV while I'm at home instead of just on my cell phone

My question has been posted and then deleted twice now. Whoever works in this department has some issues. My question should be a simple one : Is there an option to disable the wireless signal on this system? Why is this a complicated question?

Good Afternoon. Apologies for the issues you have experienced posting and verifying the question. No, the wireless cannot be disabled. However, you do not have to use the built-in network. For remote viewing on a Smart Device or computer, you will need to hardwire the DVR to your router via Ethernet cable. That is optional. If you don't want to remotely view your system, you do not have to network it. You can elect to view it on a TV or monitor as a CCTV system via HDMI. The built-in network is simply for connecting our compatible 1080p wireless cameras. If you do not want to to that, you are not required to do so. You can just use our wired 1080p cameras. What is the max length of add on cable that can be used for wired cameras? Thank you!

You can go up to 160 ft. from the DVR using BNC coaxial cabling. We sell 60 ft. and 100 ft. extension cables on our website. If you need to go further than that, we would strongly recommend getting our video balun and using a single Ethernet cable run. Our video balun is used to convert BNC connectors to Ethernet ports. This allows customers to use an Ethernet cable (Cat5/Cat6) in lieu of the BNC coaxial cable to connect the camera to the DVR. Do you have to install an internal hard drive or can you use an external hard drive

Most Night Owl DVR/NVRs can accommodate larger hard drives. See your product Specifications for the max size. Our DVR/NVRs are compatible with internal SATA HDD's, 2.5" or 3.5". How long is the power cord for the wireless cameras? It says "plug into any outlet," but how far from an outlet can they be?

Each camera comes with a 60 ft. video/power cable. Per every 4 cameras there is a 4-way power splitter and camera power adapter. The adapter is roughly 4 ft. Each adapter powers up to 4 of the wired 1080p cameras. Thank you!

No, these cameras aren't compatible with your current system. Your current system does not have spotlight functionality. As these cameras are equipped with a built-in motion-activated spotlight, that feature will not work with your current setup. Are the cameras rated for outdoor use, or only inside??

Night Owl's wired cameras are intended for indoor and outdoor use. When installing the cameras outside, we recommend placing them under some type of minimal protection such as an eave or awning. The cameras are weather-resistant, not waterproof (meaning they cannot be submerged under water). If they are overexposed to the elements it will reduce their lifespan. I currently have the DVR-X3-81-JF DVR. Can I remove the hard drive from that and reinstall it in this unit? I'm looking to add wireless camera capability to my system.

Yes, you can. Though, when you open the cover of the DVR or NVR, you risk voiding the warranty if you cause damage to the unit. Please ensure the unit is powered down and you do not damage the motherboard or any internal components when swapping the HDD. Thank you!

Does this work with wifi or do I have to connect Ethernet cable?

Your Night Owl device only needs to be connected to a modem/router if you wish to view it remotely on a PC/MAC or a Smart Device. To remotely view your system, you must manually connect an Ethernet cable from your modem/router to the DVR/NVR. If you do not want remote viewing, you can connect the system to a TV or monitor to view live video feed and recordings. Thanks for choosing Night Owl!

1) The DVR will connect to your Internet via Ethernet cable. This is a Hybrid DVR. If you add our 1080p wireless cameras, the wireless cameras will connect to the DVR using the DVR's built-in Wi-Fi. The Ethernet cable is to establish a connection for Remote Viewing and Firmware Updates. 2) We cannot guarantee compatibility with 3rd party brands. Thank you!

Can the provided video/power cables be extended beyond 60'? If so, is there a limit on distance

Yes, the spotlight can be disabled for one or more cameras if desired. This can be done at the DVR/NVR level or remotely via the App. This may come in handy for cameras that are installed inside the home, or during special events where you anticipate a lot of camera activity. Does the wireless cameras in this package have any audio at all? It says "2-way audio enabled" when you scroll down to the details under this package, but then has a note saying "2 way audio not included with the wired spotlight cameras"

The wired cameras in this kit are not audio enabled. The 1080p wireless cameras each have 2-way audio. Our hybrid DVRs can hold up to 4 x wireless cameras. So up to 4 cameras can have 2-way audio. Thank you!

Will ALL features work with DVR X3-81-JF ?

No. Our X3 DVR does not have Spotlight capability. So, the Spotlights on these cameras will not work with that model. The cameras would simply display 1080p and show motion detection. Thank you!
