Does the system have two way communication

The DVR can hold up to 4 wireless devices including our 1080p wireless cameras and our Smart Doorbell, both of which are equipped with 2-way audio. The wired cameras, however, do not have audio. Thank you!

What hard drive will work with system since we want to get an 8 terabyte hard drive? Specifications needed in your description for us non pc people, maybe even a few recommendations if hard drives that will work.

I have an 8 channel AHD-7 older system. I wanted to know if my AHD-7 cameras can be used with this DVR, and can I also use the newer 1080 cameras in conjunction, to have 16 total cameras.

How much video (time) can the 1TB DVR record if all 12 channels are being used?

It depends on many factors. By default, our products are set to motion record, meaning they will only record when the cameras sense motion within the detection area. How long it takes the hard drive to become full depends on: 1) the size of the hard drive, 2) how many cameras are connected, 3) the recording resolution the cameras are set to, 4) the environment where the cameras are installed (how much traffic they detect) and 5) the recording setting for each camera ( motion, continuous, time schedule, etc...). Yes, the spotlight can be disabled for one or more cameras if desired. This can be done at the DVR/NVR level or remotely via the App. This may come in handy for cameras that are installed inside the home, or during special events where you anticipate a lot of camera activity. How does video recording work? How many hours of video can be saved on the 1TB drive? What happens when it fills up? Does it stop recording or does it overwrite the oldest? Can you protect specific records from deletion?

By default, our DVR/NVRs are set to auto-overwrite when the HDD becomes full. This means the system will start recording over older footage to accommodate new recordings. You can deselect this option from within the Main Menu. Note, without this option selected, your product will stop recording when the HDD becomes full. Unfortunately recording time depends. By default, our products are set to motion record, meaning they will only record when the cameras sense motion within the detection area. How long it takes the hard drive to become full depends on: 1) the size of the hard drive, 2) how many cameras are connected, 3) the recording resolution the cameras are set to, 4) the environment where the cameras are installed (how much traffic they detect) and 5) the recording setting for each camera ( motion, continuous, time schedule, etc...).
